I know that building and creating is not easy. Stable, pragmatic, secure development is not an easy path at all. It is neither quick, and it means continuous work and lifelong learning.

Upon regaining our independence, our goal was to reach the prosperity levels of Western Europe. This cannot be achieved in a single day. Nearly 30 years have passed, and we are halfway there. How quickly we cover the remaining distance depends solely on us.

Our Latvian national economy has become integrated into the Western European economy. It can provide stable economic growth. We have the opportunity to work more successfully than ever, provided we are all responsible, honest, and respect the true values of Western democracy. In Western society, the individual has always been at the centre! It is precisely within Western society that the most extensive social support systems exist, and there is genuine solidarity between social groups.

However, this is a path of knowledge. Only education – a unified one that strengthens us rather than divides us – can ensure increasing prosperity for our families and society.

It is also a path of security. We are a full member state of NATO. This means that Latvian society, our homes, our land, our future, and our dreams are secure.

I believe that our children and grandchildren will be truly free only in a country created and built by us. And it must be built by all of us together – by you, by me, by everyone. By raising children in our daily lives, caring for our parents, supporting the most vulnerable, and doing our work.

But freedom also imposes duties. Our civic duty to one another, to our families and to the Republic of Latvia is to go, participate in elections, and continue building our country together!

I believe that we are a smart and far-sighted society. I believe in reasoned opinions. I believe that we will distinguish the wheat from the chaff, empty populist promises from real actions! Therefore, I urge everyone to evaluate each candidate as an individual, to assess their experience and their achievements.

Let us take our passports and go vote for the Republic of Latvia! Because Latvia – that is us, and only we can decide its future!
