Like other climate scientists, Judith Curry also believes that humans are warming the planet through their activities. Back during the George W. Bush presidency, she was one of the most ardent advocates and defenders of these views. She was one of the first to link global warming to hurricanes, publishing a significant study in 2006. But the main difference between her views and those of the majority concerns the question of just how great the direct human impact is on the rise in global temperatures.

She once mocked "climate alarmists" who believed that "humanity has swallowed all the fossil fuels". On her blog, she criticised various scientists, including climatologist Michael Mann and climate historian Naomi Oreskes, who were the loudest and most prominent "voices" among climate activists. Judith Curry also testified before the US Congress. Incidentally, a group of Congressional Democrats, dissatisfied with Curry's conclusions, investigated her sources of funding.

Speaking of the frequently invoked democracy, in Latvia, too, voices are often heard asking: "And who is funding this or that?" (referring to articles, views, or reflections), thus revealing a peculiar style of thinking. Events cannot and should not be generalised, but if someone thinks that in the 21st century views can only be paid for and bought, perhaps it is necessary to start with a review of the experience of the person expressing such a thought, if it is necessary at all. If a person only understands or accepts a money-view relationship (I pay you - you hold this view), they likely have previous experience that one should start with.
