Although forest drainage no longer takes place in Finland, cleaning overgrown drainage ditches provides tangible financial benefits. The peatland simulator assists in the restoration of ditches while simultaneously allowing this work to be carried out with less harm to the environment.

The peatland simulator has been created and developed for the restoration of existing drainage ditches. It can be used when planning work so that the potential volume of discharged water remains low, while at the same time being financially advantageous.
