The floor area of the Mansikkala school is 11,000 square metres. Steel was used only for the foundations, civil defence shelters and stairs.
In Finland, an increasing number of schools and daycare centres are being built from wood. It is ecological, healthy and educational, whilst simultaneously supporting the regional economy.
