The German federal government is offering €700 million to deal with the damage caused to forests by drought over the last two years.
Sustainable forest management is as worthy of support as digitalisation in the forestry sector. The funding will also be used to invest in "modern machinery and equipment", as well as to "support the modern timber industry, including wider use of wood in construction".
"...the federal government is not only trying to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus crisis, but also wishes to support sustainable and climate-friendly industries with significant investments..."
