The reconstruction and restoration of the three-storey wooden building on Vecpilsētas iela received the highest accolade in the Restoration category at the Gada labākā būve Latvijā 2019 (Latvian Construction of the Year 2019) awards organised by industry bodies. It is planned that the wooden building will be a publicly accessible tourist site where visitors will be able to gain a wealth of educational information about Jelgava's wooden architecture, the Vecpilsētas iela quarter, as well as the building's own construction history and restoration process.
