Observations from farmers in the Naukšēni area suggest that the number of wolves in the vicinity has increased significantly of late. Furthermore, bears are being spotted much more frequently than in the past. Hunters speculate that the animals may be sharing territories and that bears are pushing wolves out of the forest.
