The goal for Dižozols was to become a leading company in both the timber sector and financing across the whole country, not just in one region. Initially, Dižozols even had its own logging machinery, but the entrepreneurs quickly realised that the logging sector was beyond their capabilities. Competing with large logging companies from scratch is difficult, and furthermore, it is not even necessary because it requires immense resources – machinery breaks down, parts are stolen, and it is impossible to keep everything under control. “Often, the machinery would supposedly be broken, but at that same time it was spotted in other forests,” says Juris. Therefore, it was decided to abandon investments in this direction and instead use outsourcing. Currently, the Dižozols fleet consists of 39 units of equipment, none of which are intended for logging. Ten are timber trucks, while all the others are light vehicles, mostly purchased on lease.
