On 27 December, the regulations for the academician, Professor Baiba Rivža jubilee scholarship were signed at the LLU Development Fund. This scholarship programme is unique at LLU as it was initiated by doctoral students of the Faculty of Economics and Social Development in honour of Professor Baiba Rivža's significant life milestone, and they have given the scholarship programme the professor's name. Furthermore, future masters and doctoral students of the faculty will be able to apply for it.
The author of the scholarship programme idea is Laila Kundziņa, a doctoral student at the LLU Faculty of Economics and Social Development, who is currently developing her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Baiba Rivža. Moreover, the subject of the doctoral student's thesis is related to the study of the role of patronage in the preparation of young specialists. As the professor herself humorously remarks, she is a practical application of her doctoral student's thesis.
