Informative guide created on necessary approvals for nature tourism and event organisers

With the increasing demand for organising various events and activities in nature, including in specially protected nature areas, the Nature Conservation Agency (the Agency) has prepared informative guides or infographics that will help activity organisers navigate the process of obtaining the necessary approvals and permits.

A total of four infographics have been created, which clearly illustrate where to look for the necessary information if one plans to organise outdoor activities, what the key legislative acts are that must be taken into account, and which institutions to contact.

The infographics are freely available and can be viewed in the News / Infographics section of the Agency's website www.daba.gov.lv.

The Agency invites you to use the public nature data management system “Ozols” as a primary source of information for planning events and activities in specially protected nature areas, as well as the individual protection and management regulations for each area, which can be found on the www.likumi.lv website and the Agency's website.

“Not all planned activities or routes in nature are always permitted. Timely communication in most cases helps to avoid misunderstandings, as well as to clarify in good time any necessary changes to the timing and location of planned activities, by searching for and evaluating alternatives. Therefore, we invite event organisers to contact the Agency's regional administrations in the region where the activities are planned well in advance, in order to receive comprehensive information if any additional questions arise,” advises A. Balandiņa, Head of the Ķemeri National Park Nature Centre of the Agency.
