My wish is to continue the good work started by Mr Krēsliņš. The forest fire protection function is very important. A pilot project is currently being implemented to conduct forest fire monitoring using remote surveillance cameras. This is because, while the equipment we currently have for extinguishing forest fires is good enough, there is a shortage of people willing to sit in fire observation towers.

Next season, fire monitoring cameras will be installed in twelve towers in the Pierīga region as a trial. They will be operated by one operator instead of twelve. I would really like for this kind of remote monitoring to be implemented throughout Latvia.
