The word taxonomy is currently foreign to many in the forestry sector, and it is even less clear how the implementation of taxonomy conditions will manifest in practice. The so-called Taxonomy Regulation, or Regulation (EU) 2020/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the establishment of a framework to facilitate sustainable investment, was adopted in 2020, and the development of related documents, including legislation, continues this year. Currently, the technical screening criteria for the taxonomy, according to which the impact of economic activity will be assessed, have been submitted for consultation.
