Which so-called "green" actions will reduce CO2 emissions? Will humans and nature be able to coexist?

Surveys show that when it comes to tackling climate change, people are choosing the wrong priorities. Many greatly overestimate the impact of not-so-effective "green" measures. Conversely, they underestimate, for example, the number of people forced to migrate due to changing climate conditions.

If you think recycling everything possible is the best way to reduce your carbon footprint, think again! These processes are at the bottom of the relevant list.

Having fewer children will be the most effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the future. Yes, it is and will continue to be effective, but many do not grasp or understand this! For example, maximum recycling will save 0.2 tonnes of CO2 per year. However, one fewer child in the future will result in a saving of 58.6 tonnes of CO2, placing "this measure" first out of the nine examined in the study. It should be noted that only 11% of those surveyed considered a smaller number of children an effective means of limiting CO2.

The next (second) most significant opportunity to help the climate is to not purchase or use a car. This will save 2.4 t of CO2 per year. Only 17% of respondents mentioned this fact as significant in the survey.

The third best way to reduce your carbon footprint: avoid long-haul flights (six hours or more), which will "provide" 1.6 t of CO2 per year.
