The Finnish government has agreed to lobby in the corridors and offices of European institutions for nuclear energy to be considered sustainable. This decision, however, has been kept hidden until now. If nuclear energy is granted sustainable status, the financing of related projects will be easier, faster, and loan terms will be significantly more lenient and business-friendly.

Since the method of generating nuclear energy is almost unrelated to carbon emissions, it has received approval (clearances) from several experts as an "energy source (generation method) that will help countries in the transition to a carbon-free energy system".
