Artūrs Kristlībs and Aigars Loss, long-standing partners and supporters of Volyn foresters, have received a Latvian State award for their support and assistance to Ukraine. The award was presented to them by the President of Latvia, Egils Levits, during a formal ceremony at Riga Castle.

As previously reported, earlier this week Artūrs Kristlībs, Aigars Loss, and Māris Liopa received the Ukrainian presidential award “For the Defence of Ukraine”; these were presented at the Volyn Regional Military Administration.
The day before, the volunteers received awards and expressions of gratitude from the Ukrainian military – soldiers of the 14th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great, to whom they, along with representatives of the forestry sector, delivered a cargo of aid. On this occasion, it consisted of vehicles, drones, medicines, and other essential items.
Artūrs and Aigars conveyed greetings to the President of the Republic of Latvia from the defenders of Ukraine, including souvenirs from the 14th Brigade and a painting by soldier Vitaliy Matviychuk from the Rivne region.
Representatives of the Polissya Forestry Office emphasised that Artūrs, Aigars, and Māris, in cooperation with the state-owned enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” and the Polissya Forestry Office, have been helping Ukraine since the beginning of the war. They have not only delivered necessary supplies to the front line, where they often personally accompany volunteer centre staff to deliver aid, but have also supported medical institutions in Volyn, Rivne, and other regions of the country.
