On 3 May, the First Deputy Head of the Volyn Regional Administration, Serhiy Movenko, presented the State President's awards “For the Defence of Ukraine” and certificates to volunteers from the Republic of Latvia for their voluntary work and active assistance in carrying out tasks related to the implementation of Ukraine’s defence measures and the protection of its interests in connection with the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

The awards were received by Aigars Loss, Artūrs Kristlībs and Māris Liopa, reported the Volyn Regional Administration.

“Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Latvian volunteers, in cooperation with the State Forest Agency and the local forestry administration, have been helping our country. Thanks to their work, medical facilities have received assistance not only in Volyn but also in other regions of Ukraine. For example, the regional perinatal centre received incubators, an ultrasound machine, microscopes, medical supplies, hygiene products and other items that will help newborns. And this is just one of the many shipments organised by our foreign partners. Furthermore, the volunteers provided the Ukrainian Armed Forces with vehicles, mobile showers and other necessary equipment.”

“We sincerely thank you for your support and assistance. In the most difficult moments, we see who is with us and who is our true friend. I am convinced that with such support, Ukraine will soon win, and we will meet you again as good friends in peace,” emphasised Serhiy Movenko.
