The 'European Tree of the Year in Latvia' competition was organised for the first time last year, in 2021, to identify and learn about trees with fascinating stories, impressive dimensions, and a significant role in the preservation of cultural-historical heritage and natural values.
In Latvia, 6,843,977,334 trees have been counted during the National Forest Inventory, something we can be proud of!
In 2022, 8 trees are participating in the Latvian vote; the winner will be determined by public vote. The winner will 'participate' in the European competition, about which we will inform you separately.
We would like to remind voters: in this competition, both the tree and the story are equally important.
