The US Department of Agriculture believes that as a result of the European Union's Green Deal, European agricultural production volumes will decrease by 12%, while food prices will rise by 17%.

The US Department of Agriculture has analysed the restrictions on land use, as well as the use of fertilisers and plant protection products envisaged under the Green Deal, across three possible scenarios: firstly, if such measures are implemented only in the EU while the rest of the world adheres to traditional agriculture; secondly, a medium-range scenario if some other countries also adopt this approach; and thirdly, if the entire world transitions to this type of agriculture.
