The Orlen Group has not purchased oil from the Urals region in Russia since the start of the war. During this period, Orlen oil refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania have ordered deliveries from alternative crude oil suppliers via 28 tankers. Consistent supply diversification measures, which the company has implemented over the last four years, have enabled a reduction in reliance on Russian crude oil supplies. Furthermore, Orlen will comply with all internationally imposed sanctions.

Poland's largest oil refining company, Orlen, reported on 11 March that it continues to purchase Russian crude oil to ensure supply stability and security, given the situation where other suppliers in Europe have abandoned Russian oil. The military conflict in Ukraine has forced the US and some oil companies operating in Western countries to stop purchasing oil from Russia, initiating talks on potential supplies from Venezuela, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
