The public media's explanation in the article is understandable and even topical, but... it is clear to many that economic and energy independence is almost as important as national independence. Contrary to such knowledge and understanding, production, profit-making, energy generation, in one's opinion, should be “stashed in corners”, so that residents do not see, do not worry, etc. Yet those same residents want to pay less for electricity. Drop by drop, for the part of society living specifically in cities, it is being explained that the country's money is earned by entrepreneurs who “work somewhere, without disturbing you, the city dwellers, without disturbing those who have gone out into the greenery, without disturbing the bears, wolves, and letting the mythical bear of Sūnciems sleep gently...” This is followed by the revelation: “Friends, this is not good!” Perhaps it is time for the public media to clearly state what its employees want – thickets where they can regularly receive European caresses and praise, or an economically independent society that does not run after instructions and is capable of analysing them. Independence and sycophancy are not one and the same.
Wind turbines are planned for forests. “These are remote locations, further from the public eye. In this way, the majority of people will rarely even see them,” said "Latvenergo" board member Kaspars Cikmačs. These will not be individual wind turbines, but rather parks with at least a dozen or so turbines. It is planned to place the parks in various locations across Latvia.
K. Cikmačs pointed out that a significant part of the project will be various studies, for which it is planned to involve ornithologists, and habitat and bat experts, in the search for the best placement locations. The first wind farms of the joint venture could be established in 3-5 years.
