INVL fund acquires 1270 ha of forest and land in Latvia

The INVL Sustainable Timberland and Farmland Fund II (Sustainable Timberland and Farmland Fund II, STAFF II), which invests in forest and agricultural land in the Baltic states, Central Europe, and Eastern Europe, has completed a transaction acquiring 1270 hectares of forest and agricultural land in Latvia.

The fund acquired the agricultural and forest land in Latvia through its subsidiaries Zemvalde Forest SIA and Zemvalde Agro SIA. This includes 338.2 hectares of forest, with the remainder being agricultural land.

“The fund continues to expand actively, using capital raised from investors for this purpose. This long-term investment has great potential for the development of sustainable forestry and agriculture in Latvia’s regions. Following successful investments in the Lithuanian and Latvian markets and our entry into Romania, we are looking for further acquisition opportunities, including in Central and Eastern European countries that offer attractive investment returns and a stable regulatory environment,” said fund partner Māris Sloka.

The STAFF II fund, which is part of the INVL group, operates in accordance with sustainable management practices, working on the consolidation of high-quality forest and land assets. The fund places great emphasis on sustainable forest and agricultural land management and social responsibility. It invests in European Union countries.

The INVL fund has raised a total of 81.3 million euros from investors. The fund owns 17 000 ha of forest and land.

The fund is managed by Apex Group, which is one of the largest fund service providers in Europe. The fund invests in sustainably managed forests and agricultural land in the Baltic states and Central and Eastern European Union countries. It is intended for institutional and private investors from EU countries.

STAFF II operates in accordance with the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and makes investments in specific countries in compliance with the regulatory restrictions set by those countries.
