The Baroque-style French garden at Rundāle Palace has won the European Garden Award in the category of Management or Development of a Historic Park or Garden, Rundāle Palace Museum representatives report.
The Rundāle Palace garden secured first place in this category, beating Lowther Castle and Gardens in Great Britain and the Château de Marqueyssac gardens in France.
At the beginning of September, the European Garden Award ceremony took place at Schloss Dyck in Jüchen, Germany. Awards were presented in three categories: Management or Development of a Historic Park or Garden, Protection or Development of a Cultural Landscape, and Contemporary Park or Garden Design or Concept. A total of nine nominees were selected for the categories by a jury of 12 international members.
