I usually say that the forest in Latvia is an aggressive ecosystem and, if we do nothing, the forest will encroach upon our backyards, as we can clearly see how agricultural land from the Soviet collective farm era is becoming overgrown. There will always be forests in Latvia, and they do not face the same threats as erosion in deserts or the encroachment of secondary jungles in rainforests that prevent primary species from growing. We have no such threat!
