The energy wood price 'dam' has begun to shift

Energy wood prices are experiencing a decline in November, although as colder winter months approach in Latvia, demand may temporarily strengthen due to the impact of average air temperatures.

Coniferous and birch pulpwood, much like energy wood, are taking a tumble and falling before prices stabilise, or reach a 'new normal'. Furthermore, prices for coniferous sawlogs, which are directly dependent on demand, also fell in November, according to information compiled by the largest forest auction system in Latvia, E-silva.
