The council of JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) has reviewed the management board's report on the operational results for 2020, which indicate that the company's turnover in 2020 reached 350 million euros, while profit before corporate income tax was 75.7 million euros. Last year, LVM paid 76.1 million euros to the state in dividends for the use of state capital.
Chairman of the LVM council Jurģis Jansons emphasises: “2020 has brought significant challenges and shocks to the company and the entire forest industry, yet LVM's results exceed the planned figures for both turnover and profit. The timber sales system established by LVM has ensured stability for timber buyers and good economic results for the company. I am particularly pleased with the company's achievements in seedling cultivation and silviculture, where the high-quality work carried out last year is a significant investment in the productivity, quality and health of the forest stands that future generations will experience.”
