Compared to accident statistics in hunting, the situation on our roads looks like the script of an apocalyptic film. The Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) website provides a table showing the number of accidents, injuries, and fatalities from 1985 to 2017. Over a thirteen-year period – from 2004 to 2017 – there were 54,499 road traffic accidents in Latvia, resulting in a total of 68,251 injuries and 3,394 deaths!
