An aerial photographer has managed to capture high-resolution images of lithium extraction sites in South America. While one might admire the quality, artistry and beauty of these photographs, they also reveal a lesser-known side. Lithium is, to some extent, viewed as a standard-bearer in our (or...) move away from the use of fossil energy sources. As the lightest known metal, it is widely used in electronic devices, such as mobile phones, computers, cars and aircraft.
