“I consider it impossible for Russian and Sigulda municipality pupils, athletes or cultural representatives to meet at competitions or cultural and educational events, while in Ukraine these same people – children, parents and grandparents – are defending their land with weapons in their hands and suffering from military action. We are not targeting Russian athletes or representatives of other fields, but we believe that we cannot participate in events in which Ukrainians will no longer be able to participate due to the ongoing military conflict,” says Uģis Mitrevics, Chairman of the Sigulda Municipality Council, expressing his support for Ukraine.
