With spring approaching, a/s “Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) invites those interested to apply for the LVM Open Forest Days events, which will take place this year in April and May across all LVM regions. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in forest clean-ups, improvements to recreational areas, and other collaborative tasks, as well as learn about forest management under the guidance of experienced forestry experts.

“During the LVM Open Forest Days, every friend of the forest has the opportunity to spend a day in the fresh air and, together with experienced forestry experts, learn about forest management and gain an understanding of the forest as Latvia's largest renewable resource, which helps to mitigate climate change. There is plenty of work to be done in the forest, and everyone can choose what suits them best, for example, gathering branches, learning about forest management, or planting a new forest. When we get involved ourselves and invest our own labour in cleaning up the environment, we treat it more responsibly and also protect the infrastructure created in the forest, which is available to all holidaymakers free of charge throughout the year,” explains Edmunds Linde, LVM Forest Management Planning Manager.

LVM Open Forest Day events are free of charge. Participants must provide their own transport to the venue and snacks for energy, and are also advised to bring clothing suitable for visiting a forest and work gloves. We encourage you to apply for the events in good time, as the number of participants is limited.
