(...) We are a country that has survived Chornobyl. There are no jokes there.
However, if humanity has decided that it is all over, and does not react to such things... But we think differently, and expect more active action on this matter.
And when Russia is on the United Nations (UN) Security Council, then what is the point of being in the UN at all? An organisation that should prevent war – what has it become? Expressing concern and alarm? All these anxious people can gather somewhere in Antarctica and express their concern to the penguins. Nobody needs that.
We need mechanisms that actually work. Like for Latvia, for the Baltics – NATO Article 5, whether it works or not. These are life and death issues, especially for us, where the war is taking place.
