In accordance with the programme developed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM), the first call for project proposals has been announced, providing households with the opportunity to receive European Union (EU) funding for the creation of connections to centralised heating systems.
The programme is intended to support and promote the replacement of old and inefficient heating equipment (biomass, coal and peat heating equipment) in cities, in order to reduce their negative impact on air quality and public health. During the implementation of the programme, there will also be an opportunity to renovate, reconstruct or build heating systems and install solar panels.
The acceptance of project proposals for the first call for proposals regarding the creation of connections to centralised heating systems will take place from 26 May 2023 to 25 July 2023 (inclusive). The selection of project proposals and the signing of contracts will be managed by the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFLA). Further information on submitting applications is available on the CFLA website. The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding available under the first call for project proposals is 3,000,000 euros. The ERDF funding available for the project depends on the demand capacity for thermal energy, but will not exceed 4,400 euros per declared resident in the property where the heating supply improvement will be carried out.
