State Police and State Forest Service plan extensive raids on 14 and 15 August

The waterfowl hunting season begins on the second Saturday of August, which this year falls on 14 August. Many hunters plan to spend the weekend near the water, hunting waterfowl. This year, just like in previous years, the State Police and the State Forest Service are planning extensive inspections of hunters throughout Latvia. The inspections will not be limited to waterfowl hunters alone. We call for mutual understanding and respect.

As every year, great attention is being paid to hunting documentation and weapon checks, with particular attention this year to the control of lead and lead-free ammunition. We also remind you that it is forbidden to hunt with a firearm under the influence of alcoholic beverages (where the alcohol concentration in the exhaled air or blood exceeds 0.5 promille), as well as under the influence of narcotic, psychotropic, toxic, or other intoxicating substances. Special attention must be paid to the requirements for the transportation and storage of firearms.
