There were also intense discussions regarding forest management in power line protection zones, as there was a desire to expand these protection zones and corridors. It was a major battle. Now, a forest owner can grow a forest in protection zones under plantation conditions, as long as they do not threaten the power line. And they can be felled when necessary; there is no need to wait for the age specified in the Forest Law. Previously, they were felled haphazardly and left as logs in the forest stands, causing financial loss to the forest owner.
