At the beginning of January, the Norwegian government revealed its plans for achieving national climate goals, including the idea of at least tripling the national carbon tax.

Norway is the largest oil-producing country in Western Europe. Its government is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50-55% by 2030. Furthermore, the goal for 2050 is a reduction of 90-95%.

Human-induced climate change will have serious and tangible consequences for humans, animals and nature as a whole, the Norwegian Prime Minister said while explaining the government's plans at a press conference.
