While demand for light diesel vehicles in Europe is gradually decreasing, influenced by additional taxes, various restrictions and a rapidly growing range of alternatives, the situation in the heavy-duty freight transport sector is more complex. This is particularly true for long-haul tractor units – replacing diesel with other types of fuel or powertrains is a serious challenge, and the implementation of alternatives requires more time.
