In order to identify demand, a/s “Latvijas valsts meži” (LVM) invites roundwood processors, furniture manufacturers or craftspeople to submit information by 15 May regarding their interest in purchasing supplies of larch, lime, wych elm, elm or maple roundwood.

LVM has long-standing experience in supplying local, large and small-scale processing companies with standard wood products widely used in the industrial sector, which are suitable for the production of boards, panels, veneer, building material structures, packaging, finishing boards, pellets and other products. However, in the forest areas managed by LVM, wood from other species is also periodically available in small volumes in certain regions for potential harvesting – previously less-demanded larch, lime, wych elm, elm and maple, which may be of interest to manufacturers of niche products, furniture makers and craftspeople.

The business environment is not static – new companies are being founded, new technologies and products are being created, and the craft sector is developing. Therefore, LVM’s intention is to update information about the market by identifying the interest of potential buyers and creating a cooperation offer that best suits the interests of both the supplier and the buyers.

Information from the buyer about the application of the wood will also be useful in the event that the roundwood specification or the quality indicated in the attachment, described by evaluating the characteristic properties of the wood and the specifics of LVM production, does not meet the desired requirements.

The following roundwood products are available:

larch sawlogs: diameter at the thin end >18 cm; length 3.00 m, overmeasure 10 cm;

lime sawlogs: diameter at the thin end >18 cm; length 2.4 m and 3.00 m, overmeasure 10 cm;

elm and wych elm sawlogs: diameter at the thin end >18 cm; length 2.4 m and 3.00 m, overmeasure 10 cm;

maple sawlogs: diameter at the thin end >18 cm; length 3.00 m, overmeasure 10 cm.
