The war in Ukraine has shaken rural land market prices, which have risen much more rapidly over the last few months than previously observed, as there is a desire to purchase land not only for food production but also for use in the energy sector.
This is shown by data from SIA Latio. “Interest in purchasing agricultural land is being shown not only by domestic young and steadily growing farmers, but also by foreigners who want to engage not only in agriculture, but also in energy – particularly the realisation of solar panel park projects,” says Sandijs Lūkins, head of the Forest and Agricultural Land Sales Department at SIA Latio.
