Plans are underway for a waste tyre and plastic recycling facility in Naujene parish, Augšdaugava municipality. The company “Innoteh” intends to build the new plant on a derelict site in the village of Pritikina. The company plans to process rubber products and plastic waste using pyrolysis, with the end result being the generation of energy. An environmental impact assessment is currently taking place, although there was no interest from residents during the first public consultation.

The Daugavpils-based metalworking company “Innoteh”, established 11 years ago, is the entity that initiated the procedure to create a new production facility for the recycling of waste tyres and plastic waste.
