There is an undeniable link between hunting and nature conservation in Europe

In response to the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, which equates hunting to resource extraction activities such as coal mining, FACE presented its new Biodiversity Manifesto at the end of June. It is the first European-scale platform reflecting the work achieved and planned by Europe's 7,000,000 hunters to halt the loss of biodiversity.

This is a new, user-friendly platform providing information on various nature conservation projects implemented by hunters. The constantly growing database currently compiles more than 470 nature conservation projects, demonstrating the significant work of hunters both within and outside protected areas. FACE currently unites hunter organisations from 37 countries and will use this platform as a basis for dialogue in discussions with EU institutions, stakeholders, the media, and the public, highlighting the positive role of hunters.

FACE President Torbjörn Larsson emphasises that information on the important work carried out by many hunters has now been compiled. FACE now has sound evidence of how hunters are successfully implementing the principles of the EU Biodiversity Strategy, investing huge efforts to restore habitats, protect areas, conduct species monitoring, and much more.
