Across Europe, growing attention is being paid to the question of how to balance the interests of people, livestock and wild animals within a single landscape. This is felt particularly keenly by hunters and farmers, whose daily lives are spent in areas where lynx, wolves and bears live or are returning. It is precisely for this reason that the CoCo (Co-creating Coexistence) project is being carried out, in which FACE – the European Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation is also involved. The aim of the project is to understand how coexistence is being addressed in different European countries. Twelve countries are taking part in the project, including Latvia.
