Talks and discussions about the transition to other types of energy sources are usually justified by one thing: "Green energy is necessary to mitigate climate change. Households and businesses will only benefit from it, as green energy will be cheaper." Recently, Isabel Schnabel (Isabel Schnabel), a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, expressed a slightly different view, namely: "The transition is necessary, but it will cause inflation." She explained that "greenflation" (inflation caused by various reasons dubbed or labelled green) is a very real thing and it will not only be persistent, but may even worsen the financial situation. The European Central Bank will need to react accordingly to such a situation (forecast). "If previously, when talking about energy prices, it was clear that they fell as quickly as they rose, now, when speaking about the fight against climate change, one can point out that the prices of fossil raw materials will remain high or rise even further. Why? If the goals of the Paris Agreement are to be met, there is no other option."
"Greenflation"*, I am afraid, is real and here to stay
