Foxes hunt cats to feed their cubs

Hunter Kate Šterna shares an interesting observation near a fox den. Many small paw prints are visible in the sand, indicating that the fox living in the den has a litter of cubs. And right next to them lies the fox family's lunch.

What do foxes eat?

Every animal has its own role and influence in nature. What does a fox eat and how does it affect wildlife populations in its habitat? The red fox (Vulpes vulpes) is a typical predator, but it has every right to be called an omnivore. It feeds on absolutely everything, from lizards and roe deer fawns to forest berries, grains in fields, and fish scraps in rubbish bins within urban areas.
Studies have found that the red fox's diet across its entire range consists of 400 or possibly even more animal species, including fish and insects, as well as dozens of plants, berries, and fruits. Of course, it will not turn its nose up at dead flesh, or carrion, either. The fox is a very adaptable species in general. This is proven by the fact that as the population increases, young foxes settle on the outskirts of towns and quickly adapt to life in an urban environment.
