Felling permits issued in the first half of 2025

In administering the harvesting of timber resources in forests, the State Forest Service issued permits for economic activity in 50446 felling sites during the first six months of 2025.

The total area of the felling sites amounts to 72 205 hectares, while the merchantable volume of timber that forest owners planned to harvest, as stated in their felling applications, is 7 782 286 m³.

In 3956 felling sites, permits were issued on the basis of a State Forest Service sanitary assessment; the area to be felled in these amounts to 5141 hectares and the volume to be felled to 1 134 648 m³.

Clear fellings by diameter, in turn, were approved by the State Forest Service in the first half of 2025 in 3815 felling sites with a total area of 3044 hectares and a volume of 774 249 m³.

The State Forest Service reminds forest owners that, when felling trees in a sanitary felling, the felling permit is valid for two calendar years, whereas for all other types of felling it is valid for three calendar years from the year of issue.
