“Everything is exactly as we do not want it. When we needed moisture, it wasn't there, and when we don't need it, it starts to rain. Buckwheat ripens gradually, and for us organic farmers, it is best if we can harvest buckwheat after the frosts. After 20 September, the buckwheat stalk starts to turn black and dry, and then I begin to harvest a portion of the area. It is very easy to harvest buckwheat if there have been frosts. Admittedly, if conventional farmers 'poison' the buckwheat, it can be harvested even now. There are those who use very few pesticides, so there will be very few chemicals there, but for those farmers who have not been honest, the buckwheat is simply a health hazard,” Škutāns said, speaking about buckwheat cultivation.
Weather conditions are very important in organic farming because nothing can be corrected by using various preparations.
