Growing proudly beside the Sēja Manor in the Sēja parish of Saulkrasti municipality, the oak tree with its own story has this year become the “European Tree of the Year in Latvia 2022”. Second place in this year's voting went to the Glika oaks from Alūksne, while the Ciemgaļi crab apple tree from Turlava parish in Kuldīga municipality came in third.
On 25 November, an award ceremony for the competition winners was held at the Sēja oak, bringing together competition organisers, participants and the residents of Saulkrasti municipality.
