As a result of forestry policy development, I would still prefer to sit at a wooden table, not a plastic or glass one. Therefore, we must think about how to make forestry as efficient as possible without reducing biological diversity. This means that environmental protection requirements must be integrated into the production of every product and the provision of every service. If we are unable to do this while preserving biological diversity, such production has no future. Finding integration solutions is also our task, which we are working on already today; each year, as we gain new knowledge, environmental protection requirements are also improved, and they apply not only to forestry, which is our core business, but also to the use of subsoil, hunting and recreation services, and seedling cultivation. We must be able to plan, organise and carry out work in such a way that all species can live side by side in the forest. For LVM, this is the main task of the Green Deal.
