To paraphrase, everything that is green is modern, or "green is the new black". In reality, this undoubtedly important and commendable idea of ecological and environmental support can, in the "wrong hands", do a disservice to Latvia's demographic interests. If the EU Green Deal is truly taking shape in such a way that for every euro of "green" investment funding, one or two additional euros must be paid from, for example, Cohesion funding, then the opportunities to invest the allocated funding as efficiently as possible in the country's development are narrowed. Consequently, the opportunities and arguments for encouraging our younger generation to stay and work in Latvia are also diminished.
