European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer and Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle will attend several events during the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), where world leaders are gathering to discuss global
development, energy supply and food security, education, and climate policy.
At the same time, the European Investment Bank will participate in Climate Week NYC (19-25 September), which is the largest global climate event of its kind.
Climate Week NYC 2022. What is it?
Climate Week NYC 2022 is the largest global climate event for the fourteenth year running. Together with the UNGA and the City of New York, it brings together the most influential climate action leaders from business, government, and the climate community. As the organisers of Climate Week NYC, Climate Group hosts the main in-person event programme in New York, which includes the Climate Week NYC Opening Ceremony and The Hub Live. In addition, more than 500 events covering ten themes are organised in New York and around the world as part of the broader official Climate Week NYC events programme.
During Climate Week NYC, from 19 to 25 September, everything is focused on getting it done. By celebrating climate action, challenging ourselves to do more, and finding ways to increase our efforts, Climate Week NYC inspires, amplifies, and provides a global platform for connection and discussion. Through our own flagship events, opportunities to engage with our partners, and the official Climate Week NYC events programme, we invite you to be part of the largest climate event.
Opening Ceremony
Monday, 19 September, 9:00 am–1:00 pm ET
The Opening Ceremony launches Climate Week NYC each year. During the event, heads of state, government officials, CEOs, and civil society leaders can share their perspectives on climate change and climate action.
This year we are returning in person, live from New York, and we are looking at the climate in the context of the modern world. We will explore global security, climate, and related issues. We will ask what is holding us back from achieving this. And how we can rebuild a fairer economy.

Following the Opening Ceremony, the Under2 Coalition General Assembly will take place, followed by a reception for climate leaders to celebrate climate achievements and discuss how to implement future actions.
The Hub Live
Tuesday – Wednesday, 20-21 September, 9:00 am–5:00 pm ET
The Hub Live is back, and it is in person. In September, we will reconnect and rethink climate action to "get it done."
We have brought together more than 1,000 international decision-makers and leaders from business, policy, and civil society to implement climate action quickly and purposefully. This year, The Hub Live will take place in New York for two days, both in person and online.
