Beware of Greta Thunberg's new role in the eco-theatre

According to their logic, there is no contradiction between the desire to ensure a high standard of living, which implies high energy consumption, and simultaneously abandoning traditional core energy sources. Hydrocarbons – bad, nuclear – bad. Sun, wind – good. For an industrially developed country like Germany to meet its energy needs with solar and wind, half of Germany would have to be covered in solar panels and wind turbines, yet this is not considered a threat to nature.

It is not even worth calculating what causes more damage to nature – the production and disposal of various batteries and power-generating systems or turbines powered by gas and nuclear energy, because climate-believers are not interested in such calculations. They are driven by religious conviction. Showing them any kind of data is much like telling believers that Gagarin flew into space but did not see any god there.

If these climate-change fanatics limited themselves to peaceful protest actions, one might not worry about them. Every generation needs its own revolution. Even if it is imagined. As George Orwell said: “Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.”
