The Norwegian government has announced aid and support plans worth more than 8 billion kroner (890 million USD) to mitigate the impact of high electricity prices on households. The government intends to cover half of the country's household electricity costs between December and March, when the projected electricity price could fluctuate around 70 øre per kilowatt-hour.
The Norwegian Prime Minister stated that extreme circumstances require appropriate solutions.
